Journaling has been around for centuries. Journaling is the practice of writing down your everyday thoughts and feelings using a variety of methods. There’s a huge selection of journaling methods, people use journaling for some of the following reasons: life planner, logbook, intimate self-expression and personal development tool.
Whilst journaling seems like a relatively easy task, it can sometimes be hard to find the motivation to start.
Tips & Tricks
1. Just Write
It may seem self-explanatory, but getting the words onto the page is the hardest part. You may find yourself overthinking about what to write or are you writing the correct things. The answer to that is there is no right or wrong answer. Over time you will find your flow and your ideal writing style.
2. Time
Setting aside 5-10 minutes in the day is a great way to get into a habit of journaling. Whether it’s first thing in the morning or just before you go to bed.
3. Tools & Implements
Having the right pen and notebook will make a world of difference. We all have our favourite pen to write with, so pairing that with the right notebook is crucial. If you’re trying out bullet journaling, have fun experimenting with different colours and pen types.
4. Confidence
Have confidence in yourself. Don’t be hard on yourself when you’re just starting. Don’t pressure yourself into writing for a certain amount of time each day or how much you should be writing
