This special edition black stained wood and gold-coated Montblanc LeGrand rollerball pen has been designed for their Meisterstück Solitaire AW80D collection. The geometrical engraved pattern running through the entirety of the pen is not only eye-catching but also aids in more grip when in use. This particular pen requires Montblanc LeGrand rollerball refills in either mystery black or pacific blue.
The Meisterstück AW80D range is inspired by the famous novel by Jules Verne. The Solitaire LeGrand Rollerball draws on the second leg of the journey from Bombay to Yokohama. Wood is chosen to pay tribute to when Mr. Foggs saves Princess Aouda from being forced to commit suttee. The main characters travel in this part of the adventure on a majestic elephant, which is featured in a cartouche on the cap. The black stained wood on the cap and barrel features an engraved pattern with Indian, Chinese and Japanese inspirations. The clip features a red lacquered diamond card suit and the cone is engraved with a pattern and card suits, representing Mr. Fogg's wager to make the journey in 80 days. The cap top is embossed with the length of the journey, 25 days from Bombay to Yokohama and 80 days in total.
