Montblanc History

Montblanc was founded in 1906 by Hamburg banker, Alfred Nehemias and Berlin engineer who thought it was time to design simplicissimus pens. Shortly after the business was founded Wilhelm Dziambor, Christian Lausen and Claus Johannes Voss took on the business preparing for the time Montblanc took over the luxury sales world. It wasn’t until 1910, following a remark at a poker game that Montblanc became a registered trademark with the rise of the evolutionary fountain pen, in 1913 the Montblanc signature star emblem was born. The representation of the snowy peak of the highest European mountain became present on the peak of every pen at the ‘Simplo Filler Pen Co’ the former name of the Montblanc brand. The star represents Montblanc’s commitment to being the highest in quality and craftsmanship.This fountain pen made history, Meisterstück meaning Masterpiece was launched in 1924, it’s timeless design soon became the most widely celebrated pen of all time, an ultimate symbol for writing culture.
